Cat and Mouse, Bait and Switch

Watch Obama and his “posse” as they pull a cat and mouse game on the American public. With the economy looming so large in people’s minds, citizens are expecting that Obama’s stated plans for America will be subordinated to the best interests of the people. Wrong answer!!

Allowing Obama control over the finances of the TARP bailout money is a major mistake. There are no controls in place to ensure its proper use and should have never been initiated in the first place. The free market system would have brought a correction.

The perpetrators of the world-wide financial crisis which resulted in the perceived need for TARP should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law under the RICO Act. TARP was truly a “bait and switch” by corrupt politicians seeking to either line their own pockets or demonstrate their own ignorance of economics.

Obama’s plan to sign the Freedom of Choice Act is moving ahead to allow the murder of babies by abortion and killing of live-birth babies.

His plan to push his support of the so-called Gay agenda is also underway for the U.S. military. "It's time to turn the page on the bitterness and bigotry that fill so much of today's LGBT (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender) rights debate," Obama said while campaigning. Although degraded by Bill Clinton’s “Don’t Ask—Don’t Tell” policy, the United States military, the greatest fighting force ever assembled, has had a policy in place against homosexual conduct since its formation. This policy annoys certain liberals who want to force their social agenda on the rest of the country and ignore those affected.

Obama’s announced intention to take away guns and ammunition from citizens in contravention of the 2nd Amendment is also moving forward in several states by his enlisting the aid of liberal Democrats who want a total ban on firearms and ammunition in the hands of the public. Recent bills have been introduced in states to require the encoding of ammunition and confiscation or destruction of all un-encoded ammunition.

Likewise, attempts to convert our 401k, 403b, and other retirement funds into additions to Social Security are being proposed and which will essentially make the citizens of this once-great country slaves to the power-mongers in our country.

Obama’s insouciance, arrogance, and naïveté must not be allowed to put our country down the sewer of immorality and corruption. While our silence has brought this about, it must stop now!

These are dangerous times (in our country and world-wide) and we must remain vigilant to thwart these insidious attempts to turn America to Obama’s Marxist/Socialist agenda!! We can no longer allow our legislators to run free with our country. Get involved at every level!!

Extinction of Morals

Samuel Adams, one of our nation’s founders, wisely noted from his religious training, life and attitude that:

“Revelation assures us that ‘Righteousness exalteth a Nation’—Communities are dealt with in this World by the wise and just Ruler of the Universe. He rewards or punishes them according to their general Character. The diminution of publick Virtue is usually attended with that of publick Happiness, and the publick Liberty will not long survive the total Extinction of Morals.”

The current condition of our nation’s populous and more so of those elected to represent them reveals that we may be in for some tough times in the near future. 

Recent reports of moral and integrity failures among our elected officials serve to highlight the depth of the problem. As stated so well by Walt Kelly in the now extinct Pogo cartoon series so many years ago, "We have met the enemy and he is us." Corrupt, and often moneyed, politicians have managed to blind people to their true agenda and thus seduced voters into placing them in office where they can further line their pockets with money generated from the labors of the public.

The devolution of morality in the United States, pointed out even by our enemies and those inclined to terrorist acts, does not bode well for us and our future liberty. We are too much in debt to those not our friends. 

Without a return to the solid values recommended by the Christian Bible: Humility, integrity, self-denial, courage, commitment, honor, etc. we place our liberty at risk.

We no longer have the option of assuming the political system is acting in our best interests. We must closely follow the initiatives and decisions and depose those who demonstrably serve themselves instead of the public.

We Were Warned

Our founding fathers warned us of the character of fallen human nature and the necessity of retaining high standards and values to avoid descent into an immoral and corruption society.

Thomas Jefferson, skilled thinker and wise observer of humankind, said:

Jefferson’s exhortations and cautionary comments serve to highlight some of the problems in the devolution of our society that must be addressed in public forum and seriously considered in the legislature. The moral degradation and corruption cited by Jefferson is endemic among our representatives today.

We can no longer sit idly by and allow morally weak men and women to make decisions for the population of the United States.

Samuel Adams said:

  • “He who is void of virtuous attachments in private life is, or very soon will be, void of all regard for his country. There is seldom an instance of a man guilty of betraying his country, who had not before lost the feeling of moral obligations in his private connections.
  • “The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil constitution, are worth defending against all hazards: And it is our duty to defend them against all attacks.
  • “The natural liberty of man is to be free from any superior power on Earth, and not to be under the will or legislative authority of man, but only to have the law of nature for his rule.

As Adams said so well, “It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds.

John Adams said:

  • "We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." October 11, 1798

Did John Adams imply that when society’s values drop so low, we must change our constitution to allow for the moral devolution and corruption of society to set new, lower standards for our nation? By no means!! Standing in the muck and mire of our so-called “modern” world, we must instead raise our eyes to the heavens and begin again the journey of rediscovery of the principles God designed us to be guided by.

An example from history should suffice to give us pause as we head into a new regime in our federal government.

When the Israelites became enamored with the nations surrounding them, they demanded a king so they could be just like the other nations. Samuel, Judge and Prophet, after discussing it with God in prayer, warned them:

“. . . This is what the king who will reign over you will do: He will take your sons and make them serve with his chariots and horses, and they will run in front of his chariots. Some he will assign to be commanders of thousands and commanders of fifties, and others to plow his ground and reap his harvest, and still others to make weapons of war and equipment for his chariots. He will take your daughters to be perfumers and cooks and bakers. He will take the best of your fields and vineyards and olive groves and give them to his attendants. He will take a tenth of your grain and of your vintage and give it to his officials and attendants. Your menservants and maidservants and the best of your cattle and donkeys he will take for his own use. He will take a tenth of your flocks, and you yourselves will become his slaves. When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, and the LORD will not answer you in that day."” 1 Samuel 8:11-18 NIV

Beware of the promises of morally bankrupt deceivers!

If My People . . .

The Bible records the exhortation:

. . . if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 NIV

As a nation, we must turn to God to restore us to the place of respect we once held in the world. We have failed in our duty to serve and obey Him and, instead followed “wicked ways.” We have allowed our moral senses to become dull and perverted, seeking our own pleasure rather than the joy God gives faithful people. We have allowed many “gods” to have voice in our nation in place of the true God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. We have selected leaders unworthy of leading this once great nation.

Now is the time to say “no” to the sin that has so easily entangled us. We must insist that men and women we elect to government office lead us on a moral path that brings honor to God instead of Mammon!

Preamble to the U.S. Constitution

“We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

We the people established this country to:

·         Form a more perfect Union

·         Establish justice

·         Ensure domestic tranquility

·         Provide for the common defense

·         Promote the general welfare

·         Secure the blessings of liberty

In all these things we are failing miserably.

From the Declaration of Independence

. . . .We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. . . .

Our own Declaration of Independence asserts that “Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.” The just powers of our government have been subverted by unscrupulous men and women sent to Washington to lead us. This must stop!

We need not worry because in the long run there is a God who will help us recover from the mess our inept, corrupt, immoral federal leadership has gotten us into. But only God can help us if Barak Obama is elected President.

Ancient writings record that we need not live in fear. But Christians can no longer remain complaisant, we must speak out and vote into office those worthy of leading us. And we must vote out of office those who have proven themselves to be self-serving, unrighteous, and even evil.

"I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him. Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. "I tell you, whoever acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man will also acknowledge him before the angels of God. But he who disowns me before men will be disowned before the angels of God. Luke 12:4-9 NIV

Then Jesus said to his disciples: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. God will take care of those who are part of his family and choose to serve Him!
